Why World building?

It is the singular idea that I have found to describe all aspects of my creative and life-giving practice, including visual art, performance, writing, video, website design, graphic design, art installation, digital spaces, technology, ritual, and imagination.

The world is in the midst of a massive shift that is deconstructing a broken system of exploitation and scarcity. We are in the Age of Aquarius – a time of knowledge and of evolution. We are seeing the cracks in the system, and it is starting to crumble.

What will take its place? What worlds are we building, not just for the future, but for today, right now?

Elements of modern technology have been used to sow discord and division, creating oppressive conditions for humanity. When it can instead be used in ways that honor our higher selves, the wisdom of our ancestors, and the universe, I believe that technology can contribute to a paradigm of cosmic elevation – where we can exponentially improve our material, emotional, physical and spiritual conditions.

I believe we are beings of higher consciousness, existing on earth to transmute our experiences and transcend perceived limitations of our human form.True Liberation.

I believe an important practice in this experience is the act of aesthetic awareness. It is not the only practice, or the most important, but it is a practice that becomes integrated with others to propel us on our journey.

When we begin to move and shape our current reality with a conscious aesthetic awareness, we can see how energy moves.

Around us. Within us. Between us.

We can begin to master the space around us, to steward the space that matters to us, to invite others to become aware of the spaces they inhabit, and to become aware of how our spaces interplay with one another.

As this awareness unfolds, we can use it as the foundation to begin building our own worlds. We can shape expressions of ourselves in a multitude of forms.

We become creators, witnesses and catalysts in the next cycle of our own evolution.

It is important to know that aesthetic awareness does not automatically equate aesthetic appeal. They can coincide, yet they are not mutually exclusive. Instead, moving with aesthetic awareness means moving with your own inner rhythm; moving in unison with natural cycles, seasons and phenomena; moving in step with a community; moving in ways that may be at odds with societal expectations; moving in ways that appeal to you but may be off-putting to others; moving in harmony with the signs, symbols and synchronicities that present to you.

The most important is the awareness, and that it is aesthetic to you.

Because the reality is that the natural world is always aesthetic. The universe will always be aesthetic. We as humans are infinitely aesthetic. We are a wondrous multiplicity of sensation, emotion, physicality and energy that can only be defined as divinity.

Once we begin to bring an awareness to that fact, we can build worlds of our deepest desires, our cosmic dreams, our ancestral lineages, our soul callings.
